Best of 2012 | Families

Have I really not posted a blog since late November?  WOW!  I wish I could say that I was traveling out of the country or that I've been immersed in some crazy, cool project.  The honest truth...I've been living life.  I know I don't have to explain, because I'm sure I'd be 'preaching to the choir', but between our home and the studio, I really wish I could be cloned!   

So, back to the task at hand.  With the Superbowl approaching later this afternoon, I know families and friends across the country are gathering to enjoy the game, eat way too many delicious snacks and share in the laughs and snickers that come from Superbowl commercials (and the inevitable malfunctions of the Half-Time Show).  In the spirit of families I thought I'd post my first in the "Best of 2012" series of posts that I have planned - Throughout Feb. I hope to highlight just a small sample of the various clients we've worked with in the past year.  Although not all of our clients will be featured, each family's unique session has brought us joy and we can't say enough how thankful and appreciative we feel that you selected us to tell your story.  Oh, and we can't wait to see you in the near future too!

White Bear Lake | Op Love Session

Working with this family is always so special for me!  They are the nicest couple and their little guy is a stitch to be around. He has a wonderful personality (the perfect combination of his mom and dad)  and it's been so fun to see him grow between the times I photograph the three of them. This session was especially great since dad was officially home from deployment and we were able to finish out our series of Operation: Love Reunited sessions. The time we had together was terrific!  I couldn't have asked for more beautiful summer weather or smiles.

April has been the month of itty bitty's!  I've been so overjoyed to work with these little peanuts and am excited to report that I have at least a half dozen more in the very near future...some girls, some boys and some to be determined as they are currently spending their last weeks in the womb before being welcomed into the world. 

To work with a newborn in this capacity is really like nothing I can explain.  They are each so tiny, so beautiful, and so absolutely perfect I can hardly stand it!  Eva was no exception.  A huge congratulations once again to her family on her birth and what an absolute perfect miracle she is!      

 

The Countdown is On...Only 11 Days Until We Celebrate Smiles

Spring has sprung, the Easter bunny has left a trail of candy, and although this weeks' weather does NOT feel like it is April, we can't believe half the month has almost zipped by!  In the midst of your busy life, many responsibilities and ever changing task list, have you made the time to make a difference in the life of a child with our Celebration of Smiles campaign? 

On April 21, 2012 our goal is to book 10 mini sessions so that we can raise $240 (the cost to repair just one child's smile). St. Anthony: Kranz Family

Another beautiful family that I couldn't resist posting before the Thanksgiving break!  This was such a relaxed and enjoyable session for me.  The Kranz family is sweet, fun-loving and very photogenic don't you think???

Once again this week we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!  We hope you are able to relax and enjoy some down-time with your loved ones...and that you get to eat some turkey, stuffing, and pie too!!!

St. Paul: Ciccarelli Family

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and it's a great time to reflect on what you're thankful for.  At Wilson Whitaker Photography we are thankful for our families, our health, our many blessings, friends, our dedicated staff, and our wonderful clients that call our studio their "home".  We hope you are able to find time this week to revel in the company of your loved ones as well as enjoy some delicious food together.  We feel so blessed in our lives and hope that you feel as lucky as we do to give thanks!  

Hendrickson Family

Photographing families is just one of the things I LOVE about my job!   It's always a great time when children are happy to be at the studio and willing to show their personalities in front of the camera.  This session couldn't have went any better!  The entire crew was cooperative and fun and I can't wait to show them their images when they come in next week.

October "Family Portrait Month" Benefits Operation Smile

During October, photographers from across the country are joining together with PPA Charities (the philanthropic arm of Professional Photographers of America) in promoting "Family Portrait Month."  This national fund-raising effort will benefit Operation Smile, which treats children around the world who suffer with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.  In the month of October we will be donating a significant portion of a child or family's session fee to Operation Smile.  We are very excited about this opportunity!!!
