Best of 2012 | Engagements

The Press Publications' 28th Annual Wedding Expo will be held tomorrow (Sunday Feb. 17th, 2013) at the Best Western White Bear Country Inn from 11-3pm.  Once again we will be participating and we hope to meet lots of local couples who are in the midst of their wedding planning.  With over 40 vendors, catering samples and door prizes, we hope you'll help us to spread the word about this great event. 

I thought it only fitting to continue the "Best of" series with a few fun engagement sessions that we photographed this past year.  One of the great perks of my job is that it is never the same!  The photos you see below have such different scenery and weather, but the same fun, and loving tone.  It is our pleasure to capture the unique relationships that exist between the couples we work with and we thrive on doing so in a very natural way.

The Unveiled Wedding Event is today!

Wedding season is here and we are thrilled once again to be a part of the 2012 Unveiled Wedding Event today at the Minneapolis Convention Center from 11-4pm.  If you're getting married (or know someone who is), you don't want to miss it! At the event you will also have an exclusive opportunity to attend the Wedding TrendSpot Fashion Show where the latest trends are unveiled directly from the runways of New York's Couture Bridal Market. You will shop over 100 wedding experts who are professional, talented and creative, each showcasing the latest trends for your wedding inspiration. Best of 2012 | Weddings

Here are just a few of the wonderful couples we were so lucky to photograph this past year.  All were unique when comparing their individual details, colors, and venue locations.  But each was strikingly similar if you observed the tender moments exchanged between bride and groom, noticed the blushing pride on the faces of bridal party parents and felt the overwhelming sense of love and support from the families and friends that gathered to celebrate with each couple.

If you ever get the chance to attend a wedding at The Enchanted Barn in Hillsdale, WI, you MUST!  It is a spectacular venue and it very much held up to its name.  Witnessing A. and A. get married was more than "enchanting" and we couldn't be happier for this wonderful, and so in love, couple!   Please enjoy the following information about their details as well as the collection of images below.

There were many superb details throughout the day that are worth mentioning in this post.  First of all, Amanda's dress was GORGEOUS!  It was both elegant and unique and it came from Wedding Chapel Bridals (7201 Bass Lake Road, New Hope, MN 55428).  The groom and groomsmen were also handsome in their Saavi Formalwear (12481 Elm Creek Blvd., Maple Grove, MN 55369) ensembles.  Luckily one of their family members is a very talented florist and to say her work was beautiful would be an understatement.  The couple told us that they LOVED their cake from Jan's Custom Cakes (215 Pine Street N., Turtle Lake, MN) and that they would also recommend Menomonie Transportation (1016 19th Ave., Menomonie, WI) as Dave Howe was super easy to work with.

This wedding was glamorous!  It was evident from the very beginning of the day that Tracey and Dave put a lot of thought, time and hard work into creating a beautiful event filled with exceptional details.  Tracey was gorgeous all the way from her veil down to the shoes she selected and Dave was oh so handsome.  One of my favorite details from the day???  The feathers within Tracey's flowers actually mirrored the feathers on her wedding gown.  Simply amazing!  Another interesting reflection...the entire day was on the verge of storms and not one drop ever fell from the sky!

Success = The Feb. 5, 2012 Unveiled Wedding Event

Where do I even begin? 

The Unveiled Wedding Event that was held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Sunday Feb. 5th, 2012 was amazing!  Thanks to both Tonya and Dave and our ever so talented "worker bees", our booth was ready to impress when the engaged couples and their family and friends made their entrance at the beginning of the show.    

We had lots of fun showing off many samples of our work including wedding and engagement images, framed prints (nested inside both The Organic Bloom frames and our very own, custom-crafted frames), a beautiful wedding canvas collection (hanging on the right hand wall) and of course our albums!!! Just before the show we had received our most recently designed studio sample album (pictured lower left) and those who took the time to view it gave it rave reviews! Our 8 x 10 horizontal album (pictured on the table, bottom right) also got equal attention.  Couples couldn't get over the unique layout of the album (it is "flipbook" style and opens up to 10 images that are each 16 x 20 in size) and the amazing cover drew many in. 

Now to the real excitement...the happily engaged couples!  We feel very fortunate to have met so many joyful brides and grooms (and their families and friends).  It is always a pleasure of ours to not only hear about the unique and special details of each couple's wedding plans, but to spread the word about what makes our wedding photography stand out among the MANY talented Twin Cities Wedding Photographers. 

It's even more fun when our past wedding clients stop by to visit with their newly engaged family members or friends!  (Pictured in the lower left is past wedding client and current family photography client Brooke (in the middle) with her mom and newly engaged sister).  If you are "uber" observant, you might have also spotted Brooke in the wedding canvas collection hanging in the booth.  We feel lucky to have been a part of Brooke and Andrew's wedding not so long ago. 

Lastly, we wanted to show once again a wedding idea that was quite a hit with MANY attendees at the show.  Pictured below are two-sided cards with selected images collected at both wedding and engagement sessions from the past year on one side, and our show special on the back.  Visitors loved the simplicity of this idea and many took pictures to remember it.  I overheard chatter about creating similar pots to display a bride and groom's engagement or other selectd photos at the reception or even as a way to show reception guests their table assignments.  The possibilities are endless, and if you have any additional ideas, I'd love to share them in an additional blog post!

Unveiled Wedding Fair on Super Bowl Sunday

It's here, it's here!  The UNVEILED Wedding Fair - The Ultimate Wedding Planning Event will take place this Sunday...(yes, it's scheduled on Super Bowl Sunday) February 5, 2012 from 11am - 4pm at the Minneapolis Convention Center (1301 2nd Avenue South, Mpls, MN 55403).  We are excited to report that we are a vendor at the event, and we will be representing our wedding photography. 

We are ready to meet all the excited, engaged couples (and their family and friends) and look forward to showing you that we've got what you want for for your wedding photography!  Plus we've just gotten in some great wedding album samples and have a terrific wedding reception idea you won't want to miss.  We are also super excited about something new we'll be incorporating at the event and we hope you'll stop by our booth (#113) to see what we're so excited about!
