Meet a few more of the fabulous 2012 high school seniors that we were blessed to work with this past summer and fall.  We are still accepting applications for our 2013 Senior Rep Program and encourage all who are interested to browse through our previous blog posts to get more information about this great opportunity.  Applicant interviews are currently being conducted at our downtown White Bear Lake studio, but it's not too late to apply!

Wallet Sale Starts Friday March 16th!

Spring has definitely arrived in full force!  The gorgeous, mid-March weather we are experiencing is just a reminder that Summer will be here before you know it and high school graduations and parties will fill our weekend calendars.  


Starting Friday we will be hosting a week long 2012 Senior Wallet Sale.  If you are a class of 2012 senior and you've realized (as many do) that you just didn't order enough wallets to hand out to friends and family, then this is your chance!  Receive 15% off wallet re-orders  (Note: The sale applies to ordering duplicates of images that you previously ordered.)

To place your order, call the studio @ 651-762-3611 to speak with either Kristen or Tonya about what images you'd like to re-order as well as the number you'd like.  Or send the studio a quick email at (studio@wilsonwhitakerphoto.com) outlining the image numbers you want as well as how many sets you'd like to order.  (Remember wallets come in a set of 8.)  *** Payments are due in full via check, online or over the phone by Sunday March 25th, 2012.

We are currently looking for outgoing, responsible and well connected high school juniors who are interested in promoting our White Bear Lake photography studio and earning CASH while they do so!

It's That Time Of Year Again!

With the snow, sleet, rain and slush that mixed across Minnesota today it's hard to imagine that Spring will be here in just 20 days!  If you ask any high school senior, they will probably tell you that it can't arrive fast enough.  Spring to a high school senior equals the approach of graduation, all night parties and summer fun before they are off to college or full-time work.  In the month of March we will post a few blogs to celebrate the wonderful 2012 seniors that we were fortunate to work with this past year!  We wish them all the best as their school year begins to wrap up and look forward to hearing of their great accomplishments in the future.

Meet 2 New Professionals at Leander Limited

We are pleased to introduce you to Collin and Ann, two new employees at Leander Limited.  Located just outside White Bear Lake in Mahtomedi (12 Long Lake Road, Suite 16, Mahtomedi, MN 55115), Leander Limited is a local business of CPA's and Business Developers.  To summarize some information from their website, "yes" they do taxes and accounting just like other CPA firms, but if you're looking for something more, they've got what you want! 

We had a great time creating business headshots of Ann and Collin for the Leander Limited website. Both seem so eager to help and truly have passion for what they do. It was a pleasure to work with each of them!

A great headshot is a powerful tool for making people remember you. It's to your advantage to provide your potential client with an image to identify with and to remember you by. You should get a new headshot whenever your appearance changes substantially. It is important that your headshot looks like you on your best day. If you change hairstyles, gain or lose weight, or feel you're looking more mature, it is probably time to update your headshot. Even if nothing noticeable changes, it can also be a good idea to update your headshot regularly, perhaps every year or two, just to keep it fresh and in style.

Success = The Feb. 5, 2012 Unveiled Wedding Event

Where do I even begin? 

The Unveiled Wedding Event that was held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Sunday Feb. 5th, 2012 was amazing!  Thanks to both Tonya and Dave and our ever so talented "worker bees", our booth was ready to impress when the engaged couples and their family and friends made their entrance at the beginning of the show.    

We had lots of fun showing off many samples of our work including wedding and engagement images, framed prints (nested inside both The Organic Bloom frames and our very own, custom-crafted frames), a beautiful wedding canvas collection (hanging on the right hand wall) and of course our albums!!! Just before the show we had received our most recently designed studio sample album (pictured lower left) and those who took the time to view it gave it rave reviews! Our 8 x 10 horizontal album (pictured on the table, bottom right) also got equal attention.  Couples couldn't get over the unique layout of the album (it is "flipbook" style and opens up to 10 images that are each 16 x 20 in size) and the amazing cover drew many in. 

Now to the real excitement...the happily engaged couples!  We feel very fortunate to have met so many joyful brides and grooms (and their families and friends).  It is always a pleasure of ours to not only hear about the unique and special details of each couple's wedding plans, but to spread the word about what makes our wedding photography stand out among the MANY talented Twin Cities Wedding Photographers. 

It's even more fun when our past wedding clients stop by to visit with their newly engaged family members or friends!  (Pictured in the lower left is past wedding client and current family photography client Brooke (in the middle) with her mom and newly engaged sister).  If you are "uber" observant, you might have also spotted Brooke in the wedding canvas collection hanging in the booth.  We feel lucky to have been a part of Brooke and Andrew's wedding not so long ago. 

Lastly, we wanted to show once again a wedding idea that was quite a hit with MANY attendees at the show.  Pictured below are two-sided cards with selected images collected at both wedding and engagement sessions from the past year on one side, and our show special on the back.  Visitors loved the simplicity of this idea and many took pictures to remember it.  I overheard chatter about creating similar pots to display a bride and groom's engagement or other selectd photos at the reception or even as a way to show reception guests their table assignments.  The possibilities are endless, and if you have any additional ideas, I'd love to share them in an additional blog post!

Unveiled Wedding Fair on Super Bowl Sunday

It's here, it's here!  The UNVEILED Wedding Fair - The Ultimate Wedding Planning Event will take place this Sunday...(yes, it's scheduled on Super Bowl Sunday) February 5, 2012 from 11am - 4pm at the Minneapolis Convention Center (1301 2nd Avenue South, Mpls, MN 55403).  We are excited to report that we are a vendor at the event, and we will be representing our wedding photography. 

We are ready to meet all the excited, engaged couples (and their family and friends) and look forward to showing you that we've got what you want for for your wedding photography!  Plus we've just gotten in some great wedding album samples and have a terrific wedding reception idea you won't want to miss.  We are also super excited about something new we'll be incorporating at the event and we hope you'll stop by our booth (#113) to see what we're so excited about!
