Best of 2012 | Newborns

Is there anything more precious than a newborn baby?  I'm so fortunate to be able to work with many itty bitty's each year when they are just four or five days new.  Although not easy work by any means (we sweat profusely from how high we have to turn up the heat to keep them comfortable and not to mention the positions we have to hold to get that "just right" shot) it is so rewarding.  Each one God's miracle...created with unique temperament, physical features, and family dynamics.  I look forward to those I will meet this year!

2012 Balloon Mini Sessions

Whew!  Where has the time gone and did summer already pass us by?  As the weather turns and the temperatures start to drop, I thought these cutie pies would bring a smile to your face.  Lots of great moments fom our August Mini Sessions at Bellaire Beach and our White Bear Lake studio.

Newborn | Dominic

It was my pleasure to work with this itty bitty!  Perfect and precious, he was born to one of our past wedding couples and that's icing on the cake for me.  I am always so excited when I hear that one of our wedding couple's is expecting a baby.  I feel more than honored when they involve us in illustrating this new and wonderful journey in their lives and I look forward to future opportunities to tell their story.

Newborn Session: Niluka

I recently traveled to the home of this little princess. Upon arrival I was excited to meet Niluka and her mother. As the session began I quickly noticed that our initial shooting plans were not panning out. When we took a short break to regroup, I was invited upstairs to see the nursery. The moment I stepped into the room, I felt like I hit the jackpot! I absolutely knew I would be able to work in the adorable space to capture the images that mom and I discussed in the consultation. The nursery was the picture of a little girl's first room; complete with pastel colors, soft lighting, and adorably feminie accents. I think the first image pictured below clearly illustrates the feelings and sense of "baby girl" that I got when I walked through the nursery door.

Newborn Model: Avery

This newborn model session was so much fun.  The word that keeps coming to mind is ACCESSORIES!  When Avery and her family arrived, we were not only ecstatic to meet this delightful little bundle, but we also couldn't believe the basket that Avery's mom brought along "just in case".  The basket was definitely larger than Avery (she was a peanut) with quite a collection of headbands, bows, clip on flowers, etc.    I couldn't help but think that the basket was trying to tell us a little someting about her future...She's in for a lifetime of spoiling!

Avery was wonderful to work with.  She was relaxed and snuggly and we are still talking about her perfect, olive-colored skin!

1 Year Milestone: Spencer

There is nothing better than capturing a little one's first year milestone.  I often photograph children in a "smash cake session" and the images I capture are priceless.  Usually the child has no idea what the cake or cupcake is all about and their exploration makes for some great images.

After consulting with Spencer's mom in her pre-session consult I learned a great deal about her little man's personality, likes and tendencies.  Based on what was discussed, we decided to skip the cake and go with one of his favorites...CHEERIOS!  Watching Spencer pick out his favorite cereal bites, sit on them, eat them and inevitably get them stuck to his feet was so much fun.  I was also pleased to get some fun brother shots as well as a few with his prized possesion...his blankie!  Another great session, with a wonderful family at the studio!!

3 Year Milestone: Lily

When Lily and her brother AJ walked through the door of our White Bear Lake studio I knew I was in for a treat!  Not only was Lily an adorable little girl with beautiful, big, brown eyes that could make your heart melt, but she was also happy, lively and funny!  Her brother AJ is just as cute in appearance and personality.  To work with little ones of this caliber is a blessing.  In fact, it is one of the best parts of my day.  I love getting to know the children of the various families that I work with and take pride in capturing images that tell the story of who my clients are on the day they visit me.  For Lily, I believe I captured her true personality, but don't take my word for it...I think the images speak for themselves!
