With spring just one month away and nicer weather around the corner (hopefully), I thought I would reminisce about the clear, crisp, perfect, fall day when I got to work with these beautiful people!  During their session I was struck by how loving they all are toward one another.  They each have adorable and unique personalities and watching them interact with one another was touching. 

 

Best of 2012 | Newborns

Is there anything more precious than a newborn baby?  I'm so fortunate to be able to work with many itty bitty's each year when they are just four or five days new.  Although not easy work by any means (we sweat profusely from how high we have to turn up the heat to keep them comfortable and not to mention the positions we have to hold to get that "just right" shot) it is so rewarding.  Each one God's miracle...created with unique temperament, physical features, and family dynamics.  I look forward to those I will meet this year!

White Bear Lake Class of 2013 | Jasmine

Meet Jasmine!  Another lovely lady that I had the pleasure to work with this past fall.  Her session was a great success and it was fun to photograph her in a new location. (I love it when clients come into their consultation with suggestions or ideas for where their session will take place!)  As you can see from the images below, Jasmine is one gorgeous gal.  Not to mention she's also outgoing, sweet and an extra hard worker both in school and at her job at The Buckle where many of her fabulous outfits came from! 

If you know of an outgoing student like Jasmine, who is currently a Junior in high school, we would love for you to make a recommendation to our studio.  Our 2014 Senior Representative Program is gearing up for another successful season and we think highly of those you know!  We will be inviting anyone who is interested (and their parents) to one of the upcoming information sessions that will be held at our studio in downtown White Bear Lake.  Our Rep program is a great way for students to get that unique Senior Session that they're looking for (Reps receive special perks) and to make $25 cash for each referral that books with our studio.

Interstate Park | Engagement Session

Ashley and Kevin are getting married tomorrow!  We are so excited to be a part of their wedding for a few different reasons.  First, I've worked with Ashley before :).  Her sister and brother-in-law were married a few years back and we couldn't be happier to be working with their family again.  Second, in our final meeting just a few weeks ago Ashley expressed her hopes for some great winter photo ops with her wedding party. (Her bridesmaids received some stylish and warm winter boots and great coats for the occasion.)  With the weather forecast predicting a few inches of fresh snow, it looks like her vision will come true!  Third, we can't wait for these love birds to tie the knot.  They met at a coffee shop not long ago and when Kevin asked Ashley out, she ignored him.  I'm told he persisted and that they are both so happy that he did! 

We hope the happy couple is surrounded with love tomorrow and everyday afterward!  Congratulations!!!

 

Best of 2012 | Engagements

The Press Publications' 28th Annual Wedding Expo will be held tomorrow (Sunday Feb. 17th, 2013) at the Best Western White Bear Country Inn from 11-3pm.  Once again we will be participating and we hope to meet lots of local couples who are in the midst of their wedding planning.  With over 40 vendors, catering samples and door prizes, we hope you'll help us to spread the word about this great event. 

I thought it only fitting to continue the "Best of" series with a few fun engagement sessions that we photographed this past year.  One of the great perks of my job is that it is never the same!  The photos you see below have such different scenery and weather, but the same fun, and loving tone.  It is our pleasure to capture the unique relationships that exist between the couples we work with and we thrive on doing so in a very natural way.

Happy belated Valentine's Day!  I hope you and your loved ones had a chance to celebrate in a special way.  To change it up a bit I decided to blog this engagement session as an interview.  Tanya and Dan are two of the sweetest people I've come across and they are perfect for one another!  We can't wait to be a part of their special day in just a few short months.

Q: Where did you meet?

A:  We met at Park Tavern restaurant. I was playing pool with two of my girlfriends when he and his friend asked us to play with them. We ended up hanging out that evening and also bowled a game too.

Q: What are some of your favorite things to do together?

A:  We like to go to sporting events together (baseball, hockey).  We also like to relax at home and play games such as Wii (bowling and tennis), our new air hockey game, and Yahtzee, while listening to music.  We spend a lot of time hanging out with our friends and family and take our Yorkie- Princess with us.  When we can, we also like to travel together.

Q: When did you know he was the "one"?

A:  There were three big things that stood out:

1) Every time I told him something about my past, he would just take it in and laugh and say, " Is that all?  Why were you so worried to tell me that?".  (It was such a relief!)  I love the way he makes me laugh by cracking a joke in a difficult situation.

2.)  He would go to church with me on Sundays, even when he had to work late or was out late the night before.

3.)  He is very close to his family and that's really important to me because I am too.

We wish Tanya and Dan continued luck with their planning as their wedding day draws near.  Despite the cold that joined us for their session, it couldn't have been more picturesque.
